In this episode, Trevor interviews Best Selling Author and publishing consultant and coach, Ally Nathaniel. Ally’s a bestselling author and had her first e-book on Amazon the #1 best-seller for over 16 weeks and had sold more than 400,000 copies on Kindle. She loves helping people fulfill their dreams and become published authors. Ally’s an immigrant. She came to the U.S. in 2006 with two young children. Her youngest daughter was born there. As a stay-at-home mom, she looked for a job that would allow her to spend as much time as possible with her children, and since she couldn’t find one, she started teaching cooking and baking classes at schools and day-care centers.
While doing that, she wrote a children’s cookbook based on those classes. When the book was ready, she started looking for a publisher and sent nearly 100 letters to different publishers, just to get rejection letters or no responses at all. Feeling both discouraged and disappointed, it was then when she learned about Amazon KDP and decided to give it a try. She wrote a children’s book inspired by her daughter, found an illustrator and in less than a month, her book was ready. Figuring out how to do everything was extremely hard and time-consuming. But the bottom line is, she did it. And when she finally published the book, it was a big hit! Ally believes that a book can take your business to a new level, as a book is the best business card and that it’s time for people to get use of the great technology we have today to their advantage and start selling their knowledge.
